Alan J. Schlesinger

Alan is an experienced commercial real estate attorney working in finance and lending, zoning, construction and design contracts, small business including corporations, limited liability companies, partnerships and equity investment agreements.  As a partner in the Newton law firm of Schlesinger and Buchbinder Alan was engaged with many non-profit development entities and represented the developers and owners of most of the affordable housing in Newton.

Representative Experience

  • Represented developer in permitting office buildings and hotels in Greater Boston and nationally
  • Represented non-profit community development corporation in acquisition, development, financing, syndication and refinancing of 6 mixed income projects
  • Represented commercial developer in complex acquisition, re-zoning and special permit converting a municipal parking lot to mixed income housing
  • Represented non-profit senior housing developer in permitting for 3 projects including zoning for an adjacent community campus
  • Represented commercial developer in 10 year permitting process for a planned development of 800 units and 100,000 s.f. commercial space under construction 2026
  • Represented several private companies in acquisition of commercial properties and various leasing and financing
  • Represented lenders in commercial lending for residential, commercial and construction loans
